Russian Cargo Spacecraft Wraps Up Six-Month Mission
The spacecraft's remnants fell into a designated non-navigational area of the South Pacific Ocean, the agency confirmed.
Roscosmos detailed that the Progress MS-29 undocked from the ISS’s Poisk module at 21:43 Moscow time (1843 GMT) on Tuesday. A deorbit burn was executed at 00:52 Moscow time (2152 GMT), enabling the spacecraft to descend into Earth's atmosphere, where it was largely destroyed by atmospheric friction.
Launched on November 21, 2024, from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, Progress MS-29 docked with the ISS two days later. The spacecraft delivered crucial supplies, including New Year gifts, fuel, drinking water, nitrogen for atmospheric replenishment, and various scientific instruments.
The next cargo mission, Progress MS-31, is scheduled to launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on Thursday and is expected to arrive at the ISS on Sunday.
